Ingredients

  • 84 grams fresh wild black trumpet mushrooms
  • Or 14 grams dried wild black trumpet mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Clean the mushrooms: Gently brush any dirt off the mushrooms using a soft brush or paper towel. Using cold water to wash is fine as well as long as you don’t soak to much.
  2. Slice the mushrooms: Trim the ends of the stems if necessary, then slice the mushrooms to your preferred size.
  3. Sauté the mushrooms: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the mushrooms: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are tender and lightly browned.
  5. Season to taste: Season the mushrooms with salt and pepper to taste, adjusting as needed.
  6. Serve: Transfer the sautéed mushrooms to a serving dish and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve hot as a side dish or as a topping for pasta, rice, steak, chicken, fish, pork, mashed potatoes, grilled bread or any other idea that you may have!
